My 8-year-old son had a blast building the model and was able to complete most of it on his own, only needing a little help with some of the smaller details.The clay itself is high quality—light, airy, and very easy to mold. It sticks to itself really well, which is great for building, though it can make fixing mistakes a bit tricky since separating colors isn’t always easy.The included sculpting tool works great for adding fine details and cutting the clay. There’s also plenty of material included, so even after finishing the main model, there’s enough left over for kids to get creative and make their own designs.The instruction app is simple to follow, with clear step-by-step guidance that’s very kid-friendly.Overall, this is a fun, engaging kit that’s perfect for keeping kids entertained and encouraging creativity for a good amount of time.

I really love this HEY CLAY Minions Air Dry Clay Kit! The packaging is adorable and high quality — it looks like a premium set, which makes it an especially perfect Christmas gift for kids. Any child who loves the Minions (especially Bob & Tim!) will be thrilled.The clay itself is colorful, soft, and easy to shape. The sculpting tools are a nice touch, and what I appreciate most is the interactive instruction app. Instead of printed guides, everything is shown in detailed step-by-step animations, which is both environmentally friendly and much more engaging for kids. I do think the instructions could include even more detail at certain steps, but overall it’s a really thoughtful and well-designed kit.Great for creativity, sensory play, and fun family craft time. Highly recommend!

My rough and tumble 8 year old son sat and focused on these masterpieces for a couple hours. The results: mom’s heart melted with how absolutely stinking adorable these turned out. He had zero help and wasn’t a huge fan of a couple of his creations, but he made a couple freaking cute minions and a unicorn for one of them to ride!! I was so impressed with the quality of the set and how easy it was for my son to follow the instructions on the so we downloaded for this set. Just beware that this project will require an app download and likely hours to assemble multiple. We had quite a bit of extra materials. My son may or may not have mixed the green and brown leftovers together and shaped them into a startlingly realistic piece of poo. Yikes. It made a great prank. Don’t miss out on the fun of creating these, and the Pride you feel the next day with your precious creations. Too cute!!

The clay itself is the star: it's incredibly light, soft, non-sticky, and feels almost like a marshmallow—perfect for small hands. It doesn't stain clothes or furniture, and the colors are vibrant and blend easily. The best part is the interactive app: using the code in the box unlocks animated, step-by-step 3D instructions that feel like a cartoon. The instructions break down the complex Minion characters into simple shapes (like spheres and cylinders), making the final result look professional and avoiding the frustration that often comes with traditional clay kits.The only reason for knocking off a star is the limited amount of clay in this smaller 5-can set. While you get just enough to make Bob and Tim, there is very little left over for free-form play or if you make a mistake and need to start a piece over. The sculpting tools are basic, but the clay is so soft you mostly use your fingers anyway. This is a brilliant, mess-free kit that successfully teaches real sculpting techniques in a fun, digital format, and the finished Minions turn into solid, playable toys after they air-dry overnight.

Vibrant colors in easy to use tubs. Comes with a little plastic knife/spatula for shaping. Great that it air dries and price is reasonable.However, while the app seems like a cool idea, I am not a fan and wish they had just stuck with paper instructions -- or at least had provided paper instructions in addition to ability to use an app.I like the idea of reviewing instructions before planning the activity and the app download instructions don't make it clear whether it can be downoaded and used on multiple phones for one purchase. That means I can't check out the app beforehand on my phone but potentially use my child's or husband's phone when it's time to engage.As cute as it is, I doubt I'll get more like ths and will look for other air dry clay options.

My wife was right! There you have it. I'll admit it but only on this occasion! She warned against buying cheaper imitations but I did a couple of times before trying Hey Clay. The game changer here is the Android App that gives you instructions on how to make a huge number of different things. The animations are really fun and mean that my 6 and 8 year old spent weeks building things with the three boxes of this that we bought. Plus there's still loads left.

The all-in-one nature of this kit makes it very giftable. It includes all the colors you need in pretty accurate proportions for the design. The clay isn't really wet feeling so it isn't very messy (I would say it's not quite as dry as model magic). Air drys in 24 hours or less. The directions were simple to follow and my kids had a lot of fun doing it. I would recommend.
