Hey clay is so fun! It’s modeling clay for the 21st century basically. The app makes it easy to follow the instructions, the clay is really high quality and easy to manipulate, and the beasts set is surprisingly adorable. Once dry they are solid! I am an adult and like doing this as a way to get some artistic expression out when I’ve had a stressful work week. It would make a great gift for kids 5 and up.

This is a review of the "HEY CLAY - Beasts Set." I ordered the HEY CLAY Beasts Set for my 6-year-old niece, and it was a huge hit. The standout feature is definitely the companion app—it breaks down the "intimidating" beasts into very simple, approachable steps.The clay itself is high-quality and easy for small hands to manipulate. While a little adult guidance helps at the start, the process is so well-designed that kids quickly take the lead. It’s wonderful to see them so proud of creating something that looks "difficult" but comes together perfectly step-by-step. I strongly recommend this for any young artist!

This HEY CLAY Beasts set turned out to be a big hit in our house. The first thing I noticed is how soft and vibrant the clay is—each color is rich, easy to work with, and doesn’t dry out quickly. That makes a huge difference when kids take their time shaping and reshaping their creations. Although the kit is designed around building “beasts,” my kids immediately branched out and used the clay to make their own ideas like animals, food items, and a few completely imaginative characters. The clay’s texture really encourages that kind of creativity because it’s pliable enough for younger hands but still firm enough to hold details once shaped. The included sculpting tools and the companion app add extra value. The app’s step-by-step guides are helpful, especially for kids who enjoy building along with instructions, but it doesn’t limit them if they want to freestyle. Overall, this is one of the better air-dry clay kits we’ve used. It keeps kids engaged, doesn’t crumble or dry out prematurely, and opens the door to both structured and imaginative play.

Hey Clay are fun kits that my boys really like. The kits are well made and have everything you need. You do need the app to get the instructions but overall they are easy to do and we have had good success. I am not overly artistic no matter how much I wish I was and I still made a good little beast.This kit is all about making little beasts or monsters. The instructions are clear and take you step by step allowing you to get final results that are very close to the pictured beast. The clay is easy to mold and use. It is air dry but you get plenty of working time to make your different shapes. They are just really fun and the kids really can use there imaginations. Highly recommend for some winter fun.

The clay in this kit is very vibrantly colored and easy to work with. I ordered this set for my very creative children and they really loved it. They didn’t actually make the beasts that were pictured so I don’t know how easy the instructions were. But they enjoyed using the clay and the tools that came in the kit and getting to use their creativity and imagination to bring their creations to existence. It dried after a couple of days and their sculptures still looked great and bright. My son said the clay was a little stinky but he also has heightened sensory issues. It also cleaned up well. Overall they absolutely loved it!

Great gift item for children. They had fun trying to make the critters.

Bought for each of my grandsons' birthday. ( age 6 and8) They seemed to really enjoy this. The other children visiting their home also seemed to really enjoy this activity also. There were enough cups of the material so that there amazingly weren't any issues with sharing! Also it was an easy clean up!

Adorable concept but BEWARE you HAVE to use a mobile device to make these. The whole point for me was for kids to not have screen time so this honestly defeats the purpose of the activity. There is no PDF to download, you have to watch the videos. On top of that the code expires after 30 days so unless you make the whole box at once this is not an item you can do parts of and then save for a rainy day. I would never buy this again unless they start to make printable instructions.

My kids love this clay! The colors are wonderful and for the most part it’s easy to work with. The only downside I can see is that it dries pretty quickly and can sometimes be hard to stick pieces together for little kids if they’re working a little slower. Re-working the clay will make it sticky enough to fix that though.I would definitely purchase more!

These kits are so fun--and educational! Our 4 grandsons (ages 6-12) really love getting these as gifts. The instructional videos are so well done and they can easily create along with the videos, or make up their own designs.

Great project to do together with your child. And then a great toy for him to play with after.

We recently discovered Hey Clay and I was delighted to gift this jumbo set to my daughter and her cousin. You do have to pay via the app (on top of the clay kit) to get the instructions for the various aliens but it is worth it for the joy they get from making them! Non sticky clay and dries quickly.

My son LOVED doing these! The tutorial video is so easy to follow and very well done. The clay is great quality. Not too sticky, not too dry. (Until you let it dry). Not messy at all, so that's a bonus! Will definitely be getting another one of these kits.

Amazingly fun clay material with character tutorials. I was highly skeptical of the app – I still think requiring an app is a flaw – however, the iPad app is top-notch. After easily building a few characters together my 5 year old was able to follow the instructions on his own, despite not being an iPad Kid on a regular basis.Note: when loading the app, some character guides in the set will appear locked. Use the included QR code or alpha numeric code to unlock your entire set! I guess the other guides are locked until you purchase those kits which is unfortunate, but I’m happy to support them and pay for more clay because it’s great stuff.

Got it for my niece and nephew. They loved it. Provided hours of fun and my sister in law liked it too because it doesn’t dry out as fast (as long as you keep unused portions capped) and stick everywhere like play dough

Purchased this for my grandson’s birthday. He loved it and was very happy excited to begin modeling the aliens. However it was a huge disappointment. Instructions were not included, codes were not included. Codes require purchasing. Any additional alien designs also require purchasing. Very upset and disappointed at the “money pit” style of buy in.

My college-aged daughter absolutely LOVES this!!!

My kid absolutely loved this kit. The code that I received with the kit only worked on one individual tutorial, and I had to pay for the five remaining tutorials. It is very deceptive in the description when they say the code is included but it only works for one project.
